Went back to Netflix and BOOM Netflix is working as it used to. I installed it from their site and BOOM it started watching video.

Sure enough that site also advised me to install Silver light. So I go and delete Silverlight again and this time went to a different site who would also need Silverlight Internet Plug in so I went to my crappy ISP Comcast website to watch some videos. After 95 min he gave up and referred me to their level Three tech support Ninja Division who is suppose to call me tomorrow. Thisĭude in India spent 95 minutes to fix the issue with no luck.

He took over my PC and said he will give me free tech support since Silverlight Issue is a known issue. Called 8 who contacted me with Microsoft Elite Tech Support. Had already done every thing they suggested and advised on Netflix Site. Must have installed and deleted Silverlight about 20 times before contacting Netflix who told me to contact Microsoft since they gave up and I Me “newer version of Silverlight is already installed on disk” so obviously you have no way to continue install. Followed all the instruction from Netflix and installed Silverlight and than Silverlight tells OK I had the same issue over the weekend and tried every possible solution avail over the net to delete the "supposedly” old version of Silverlight with no luck. Restart computer, close all browsers etc.

I downloaded an app called EasyFind for free to search for any invisible files that might have silverlight in them and found a few more.Ĥ. Use spotlight to find any other silverlight files and delete, keeping in mind there are and files which are posted in more detail in other parts of this forum.ģ. Go to Library/Internet Plug-ins and delete all silverlight files.Ģ. Grab a beer to soothe the monster headache that came from dealing with this stupid thing.Īll week I have been doing the following to no avail, but it might be a combination of the above and some of the following:ġ. Install Silverlight in about two seconds.Ħ. Delete all silverlight files by moving to Trash. (for some reason spotlight does not pick up on this folder, which is why I think this is causing the problem)Ģ. I've done several things so I'm not exactly sure what solved the problem and removed the "newer version" that was blocking the reinstall of silverlight, but after trying everything suggested on these forums here'sġ. I've had the same problem for over a week.
